Outdoor Pool at Stoney Bay

A January or so ago, a small class set out from Pacific Lutheran University to "study away" to scenery- and UV-rich New Zealand. It was a backpacking class. Needless to say, it was the experience of a lifetime, and I couldn't be more grateful to everyone involved in my having that opportunity.

On the "Banks Peninsula Track", one of the multi-day trails, one of our rest stops was at a place called Stoney Bay. Without going too much into it, I'll just say that the little compound was straight out of Peter Pan. My proof of this is the billiards table constructed outside, shown in this piece. I loved it, along came the idea to do a project like this.

The series of pictures were sort of just taken on the fly. No tripod, no special camera or lenses or anything. Just me trying to hold as still as possible so as to get all the same look for the shots, my little ELPH SD300, and our (also little) Michelle taking my photo, since I couldn't hold the camera for that.

I tried to make all the pictures look relatively the same in rotation and position and all, and touch them up as best I can. It's not a masterpiece, but there are some great memories tied onto this one.
