Version 1 of my submission for the Paper Heart "What Does Love Mean to You?" contest!
I've never actually done a contest here on dA before. I was excited that it came along, though, because it gave me an opportunity to do something quite unlike what I normally put together. I think it turned out pretty good!
Now, the tag line in the middle is the sum of what love means to me, particularly in reference to the style of the entire poster. (The art style employed is, obviously, that sort of 'deliberate slapdash' that's been so popular lately in movies like this.) Thing is, I was thinking later about how the tag line I put into the middle of the heart doesn't really reflect the message I picked up from the trailer of the movie that this is for. Therefore: Version 2, "Me and You".
The movie looks pretty fun, too - I'm looking forward to it!
-- Good luck to all the other contestants!
A big thanks to for the stock butcher paper, and to for the lined paper.
EDIT: Fixed something that was bugging me. Super minor edit. Just figured I'd log it.
Oh, I don't know.. Everyone is looking for something different in an art piece. I'm thinking that mine was a lot busier than the director was looking for. Also, my poster goes out and makes a verbal statement as to what love is to me. Open-ended seems to be the name of the game this time around!
Sincerely, though, thank you for saying so. Means a lot and I appreciate it.
Thanks so much for the comment.
seriously.. the winning posters suck! lol
This is something that would actually fit the movie!
Maybe next time, huh?
Thanks for the comment, man - you're awesome.
Sincerely, though, thank you for saying so.
