Thanksgiving Present for You All

Sun Nov 15, 2009, 12:51 PM
Hey, everyone!

I just wanted to throw your way that I've started to do a bit of language-type stuff here on deviantART and I would love to share it with you if you haven't seen it yet!

In particular, you, my friend, have a Thanksgiving gift waiting for you. This Thanksgiving Blessing I wrote for you and all of my friends. It's a little long, but if you are going to read it, I encourage you to do so before Thanksgiving is over. :aww:

Please take care as the world starts getting colder!

If you stumble across a deviation that you like enough to fav, giving that person's gallery a glance as well is probably worth your while.
:iconjunk-romantic:

Well, is there anything in particular that has always confused you about Americans? (Besides the whole cookie/biscuit thing. :)) I remember some Canadian friends of mine saying that it seemed redundant to them how we tend to say, "Where are you at?" instead of just, "Where are you?" My justification is that now it tends to get slurred into "Where're y'at?" which is a cheating two syllables and takes a lot less mouth work than all the long vowels in the alternative.

If you want really random, though, did you know that there are really only three different ways to bite into an apple? I discovered this a few years ago.

lol... well over here (specially in the north east) we speak really slurred, so we wuld say still say where u at... but it usually comes out wher' u.t ... yeah but weird but i suppose its the way we've been brought up. i can talk like a real jordie (if you dont know what that is look up the jordie dictionary-funny as) but i'm a mackam i shuld speak like a mackem but i dont... n/m. then i can talk like a news reader. its bizzare.

weird fact. i did not know this. well did u know that your eyelashes can be up to 3 months old and they grow back every 4 days... so when u loose a lot at once you'll be parshly bald for days (in the eye department only tho) :D

North east, huh? Interesting. The jordie thing is pretty funny. Talk like a news reader? :D That's hilarious.

Huh - well, whatd'ya know. :) How about this one? You know how the central nervous system in people (and, in turn, mammals in general) can't heal if it's broken? (That's why paraplegics don't heal up.) Well, the amphibian CNS can! Sever a frog's optic nerves and allow them to heal, and the frog will be able to see again. Pretty wild, man.
:iconjunk-romantic:
yeah lol i have come equipt with a BBC accent... gunna cost u extra-lol

wow, i did not know this. Thats quite a good thing to have if your a frog. did you know that the numbers '172' can be found on the back of the U.S. $5 dollar bill in the bushes at the base of the Lincoln Memorial- bet u didnt...
